Is a Medicare rebate available for speech pathology?

There are limited rebates available for individuals under Medicare items for complex and chronic conditions. If eligible clients willhave complex care needs and need ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team consisting of their GP and at least two other health care providers, one of which may be a speech pathologist. A GP consultation to prepare a GP management plan and Team Care Plan is needed and a referral needs to be made to speech pathology under a Chronic Disease Management Plan.  This enables a partial rebate for up to 5 session in a calendar year.
